As a Director of Photography, I rely on technical discipline, intuition, empathy, and artistry to deliver for my clients.
My technical discipline has been honed over 25 years in production. My muscle memory and comprehensive knowledge of production workflows are just as foundational as my vast network of freelance professionals who are badass at their jobs and bring a great attitude to the task at hand.
Intuition and empathy allow me to connect with everyone on set. Whether you’re the talent, the producer, the grip, or the hair and make-up, I treat you as a human being with an essential role in our collective larger mission (to make our day on time and within budget). I don’t care whether somebody is A-list or it’s their first time on set — everybody deserves to be treated with respect.
The artistry is where I experience the purest joy on set. Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated with seeing — and I’m good at helping others to see in a whole new way. This work lights me up from the inside, and I am extremely grateful to make a living doing what I love. I express this gratitude by making beautiful work with incredible people.
